Questions about 55+ communities
Where are the 55+ communities near Gilbert, AZ?
Trilogy at Power Ranch is in Gilbert. Sun Lakes is nearby to the southwest, Leisure World is in Mesa, and Encanterra and Solera at Johnson Ranch are in San Tan Valley.
Do both spouses need to be 55 or older?
Not always. Many 55+ communities follow federal rules that require at least one resident per household to meet the age requirement, but each community sets its own rules. Always read the governing documents.
Are HOA fees higher in 55+ communities?
They can be, because they often cover clubhouses, pools, fitness centers and activities. Some communities also have separate golf or club fees. I'll get the full cost for any home we consider.
Can I rent out a home in a 55+ community?
Some allow rentals with restrictions, such as minimum lease terms. Others don't. Check the community's rules before buying if renting might be part of your plans.
Should I sell my current home before I buy?
